Purpose:
PAND society Cultural Committee is in charge of gathering a group of members interested and being active in studying Iranian culture, roots, and literature. The purpose of this committee is to create interest in the members to learn more about our culture and literature.
The late Alex Shahidi was the founders of PAND Society’s Cultural Committee. In 2013 the board of directors changed the name of the Committee to Alex Shahidi Cultural Committee.
Detailed Summary:
- This committee shall hold meetings with the committee members to have discussions about the Persian literature, culture, and share poems.
- The committee chair shall organize and arrange for meetings and guest speakers. Also the committee chair will prepare and send a cultural newsletter once a month that will include topics about our culture and literature.
- The cultural committee may arrange for celebrations related to our cultural events throughout the year.
- The Cultural Committee shall set up and implements programs, as possible, to assist Iranians in assimilating in the American Society through mentoring, providing internships, and career/job palcement.
The committee chair shall perform all other duties as may be properly assigned to him/her.
